International Embryo Shipping — Quick Guide
If your clinic or storage facility has released your embryos to you for private memorial jewellery, this guide shows you how to package and ship them safely to our UK studio.
This is the simple overview. You will find full details further down the page.
1. What You Will Receive From Your Clinic
Your embryos may be released in formats such as a straw, vial, cryotube, cryostick, slide or small pot. Leave everything exactly as it has been provided.
2. Do Embryos Need to Stay Frozen?
No. Once released for private memorial purposes, embryos do not need to remain frozen or cold during transit.
3. How to Package Your Embryos
Inner layer
- Keep embryos in the original container.
- Place inside a small sealed bag or pot.
- Add padding such as tissue or bubble wrap.
- Include a small note with:
- Your name
- Your email
- Your phone number
- Your order number (if known)
Outer layer
- Place the inner package inside a small sturdy box.
- Fill any gaps so the contents cannot move.
- Seal all edges securely with tape.
- Place that box into a padded mailing bag.
- Add your full name, address and phone number to the outer label.
Tip: Add your details on both the inner package and the outer mailing bag. This helps your parcel stay identifiable even if the outer layer is damaged in transit.
4. Choosing a Postal or Courier Service
Use the fastest tracked and signed service you are comfortable with. Popular options include:
- Your national postal service (tracked and signed)
- DHL
- FedEx
- UPS
You may send us your tracking number by email or message if you would like us to know that your parcel is on the way, but this is optional.
5. Customs Form (Important)
Description:
“Non-hazardous personal memorial sample, no commercial value”
Category: Gift / Personal item
Value: £1–£5 (or equivalent). Higher declared values may lead to import or handling fees, which remain the customer's responsibility.
6. When Your Embryos Arrive With Us
We handle all embryos with care and respect. If your chosen design has a visible embryo stone, the final appearance can vary depending on the straw and solution colour.
You can select a “decide later” option for the finishes. Once we have prepared your embryo material, we can arrange a design appointment if needed to talk through the look and feel of the stone.
